St George's Day

I am hearing a lot of stories from many parts of the Country that funding is being withdrawn from St George's Day Celebrations on April 23rd. They argue that it fuels "Right Wing Extremism", utter rubbish, St George is a national hero and a symbol of our National Flag. I don't see any right wing extremists in Ireland who celebrate St Patrick's Day, Nor St Andrew's Day in Scotland or even St David's Day in Wales. Is our Government so ashamed they cannot let us be proud of our country for fear of "insulting others"

Frankly this attitude is one of a weak, pathetic and very confused State. It really is time to throw out the old, and bring in a fresh, new party which will not be afraid to make tough decisions.

UKIP wants St Georges Day to be a National Holiday, it is a National Policy of UKIP.

Go out there and Vote for UKIP on 4th June 2009

The ruling elite

I'm fed up with career politicians!

They don't listen, don't learn, and don't speak to us. They walk around as if there was a halo sitting above their heads and simply believe they are something special.

Today, many of them simply didn't like what they were hearing as an ELECTED Head of State was addressing them in the EU Parliament today. Because they didn't agree with him, they simply rose from their seats, made disgraceful comments towards Klaus, and made for the exit.

What a disgraceful act. Simply proves what I said earlier in this blog.

Only UKIP stayed and applauded the President of the Czech Republic. Only UKIP will stand up for freedom of speech and democracy.

You know what to do on June 4th 2009. Make it UK Independence Day.

Marx the soothsayer!!

"Owners of capital will stimulate working class to buy more and more expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing them to take more and more expensive credits, until their debt becomes unbearable. The unpaid debt will lead to bankruptcy of banks which will have to be nationalized and State will have to take the road which will eventually lead to communism."--- Karl Marx, 1867

A rather disturbing barb from the past, and expressed by none other than the instigator of extreme leftist Communism. New Labour changed the way Britain regulates and runs banks - well now, it looks like a big conspiracy theory and a pretty convincing one at that too!

Big question is, do we want Communism? Do we want to be a Country reminiscent of Mao's China or Lenin and Stalin's Russia?
I know I don't.

Down with New Labour!

Brown Brown Brown, out! out! out! Before this foreboding actually becomes a reality.

Geert Wilders and THAT video

I appears that the final flicker of freedom of speech has been stubbed out.

Geert Wilders, a man not many of us in the UK know of, is a man who attempted to come to Britain to show a video that depicted the Muslim faith as a "fascist" organisation. That is one man's opinion, and he wished to express that opinion.

I myself have met Mr Wilders and while his views are far too extreme for me to consider, he was decent and presentable. He had tried to show the very same video in the Strasbourg European Parliament to no avail, Parliament authorities silenced him before he was able to speak. The film was banned from viewing and the gathering press had come to see Mr Wilders gagged and bound by the EU authorities.

It really is a sad day for freedom of speech and of democracy.

I have not seen the video.....yet. But I must confess that despite the opinions of the video, I will watch it with an open mind. The best way really.

I feel ashamed to be a part of the UK as its citizen, our Government thinks nothing of those extremist Muslim clerics such as Abu Hamza et al, and while they live off taxpayers benefits and recieve the protection of our Police Force, one man who possess an opposing view is silenced and banned from our shores.

I believe our Government have got their priorities wrong. Shape up or ship out.

UKIP beleives in freedom of the individual in EVERY sense of the word.

European 112 day!

What going on at the EU Brussels Institutions today?

Only a large scale demonstration attempting to promote the EU emergency number 112. Surprise surprise, the EU would like to replace our well-known emergency number 999 to its preferred 112.

What a ridiculous idea - totally out of touch with what is going on in the World today. Not only is it pointless and unneccesary, it proves the point that the EU is not a beneficial organisation. Merely a gravy train for beaurocrats. While we are suffering an economic crisis closely turning into a disaster reminiscent of 1929, the EU would like to promote a new emergency number!!!!! Presposterous. While our Government is largely impotent in its ability to help solve the economic situation, thanks to EU regulations, the EU itself isn't even bothering help out at all.

Really, it is time to say enough is enough! Fed up of the EU and its pointless wastefulness?

Phone 112, Ooops sorry, call 999 and inform everyone of the emergency that needs addressing, Britain's withdrawal from the European Union!

Vote UKIP on 4th June 2009 and help get back control of our Country.

Czech's call for second reading of Lisbon

The Lisbon Treaty Referendum was sent for a second reading last week by the Czech Chamber of Deputies. The Communist KSCM party had put forward a Bill for the second reading, and it was successful. So I never thought I'd ever say this, but well done the Communists! (I promise never to say that again!).

If the Czech President is successful in ending the ratification process of the Lisbon Treaty, then it will be a another successful blow to the institutions of the European Union, who will surely begin to doubt whether they should continue with their dream of an EU Superstate.

Along with the No votes in Holland, France, Ireland and a recent No vote on the Euro in Poland, perhaps the Czech's can deal the final crushing blow to the EU and finish them off with a great right hook to its Constitutional Treaty!

New Website launch

Well, it seems that johnukip has run its course. It started life as a candidate selection site for the membership of ukip and has developed into a regular news feed, informing you about the ukip view on events in Brussels and in Britain.

The website will be developed at record speed and should be online in the coming week. The new site will be a North East UKIP website incorporating branches, candidates, a forum, videos, regular news feeds, blogs from our candidates, a free monthly e-newsletter which anyone can contribute to and a donations page. The aim of the new site is to incorporate the input of visitors to the site, and help them to feel part of the eurosceptic movement, giving them impetus to help further the cause.

Also, the same time, we are in the process of developing a new Newcastle Upon Tyne Branch of UKIP which should culminate in April and we plan to be a big part of the North East Campaign.

So watch out for the new site and If you send me a message on the contacts page of the current website, I will send you the URL and keep you informed of developments.

Making it happen....NOW! Vote UKIP on June 4th 2009

The UK Independence Party has issued a statement on this issue, it follows;

"We're about to spend tens of billions of taxpayers money on a stimulus. The Olympics, council houses, maybe the Greens will get their housing insulation, more windmills and so on. But the point of a stimulus is to provide jobs for British workers to do instead of their festering on the dole. But under EU laws we cannot stop foreigners from taking these jobs. Even if we are paying our own tax money to create jobs, we still have to let EU workers apply for and get these jobs. So it will be "British taxes paid to foreign workers."

Who was it who said "No taxation without representation"? Well, it seems no-one listened to the man..... its now "no representation without taxation".

Lets sort this mess out .....NOW!

Mandy and the EU Gravy train

There has been much activity in the UK recently, particularly with the strikes rising in protest to the preferential treatment of foreign workers. This has prompted debate on the phrase coined by Gordon Brown when he became Prime Minister "British Jobs for British workers", the fact is this ain't happening. British people are being treated as second class citizens in favour of foreign workers. The crux of this issue is that Brown's Government can do the square root of bugger all thanks to the EU and the so called 'free movement of citizens' the problem is a serious one and perhaps getting out of the EU has never been a more important debate than now.

Former EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson still gets £78,000 per year for having been a Commissioner and this isn't taking into account a nice big fat pension to boot!

Conflict of interest perhaps? Oooh I don't know, course it is!!

Are we living in a democracy anymore? UKIP wants our democracy back. NOW!

What EU Membership Means?

The European Parliament has a big influence on the lives of EU citizens, whether they realise it or not. EU laws apply in all member states, and most laws passed by national parliaments are drafted in response to European directives (framework laws that have to be transposed into national law within a certain timescale).

This is taken from the BBC Website - is there any more reason to tell Brussels where to go?

The peoples of Britain have never had a national referendum on our membership of the EU - and the more EU Directives that are passed, the less our politicians are representing us. Briefly this means that our elected MPs are not doing the job we elected them to do, and they gave themselves a pay rise last summer! To add insult to injury, they refuse to release details of their expenses - time for some real change I believe.

UKIP offers that real change, we will give the Peoples of Britain a referendum on our EU Membership - and we would back a NO Campaign!

We believe in transparency and making our Politicians accountable.

Newcastle Journal

Euro candidate offers third way (Letter to Journal, Newcastle, 20 Jan, from John Tennant, UKIP candidate in NE): "The Conservative MEP for the North East Region, Martin Callanan attempts to lambast the Government for its part in the economic shambles (Voice of the North, January 16). While I am no Labour supporter, I cannot help but notice that much of the economic crisis is partly to due to private sector trading and the banking industry, which no government can control. I fail to see how much better a Conservative Government could handle this crisis."

First Blood!

Martin Callanan the Conservative MEP for the North East Region had suggested a Conservative Government would be the solution to the Economic crisis we are suffering. Would somebody remind him about Black Wednesday and the European Exchange Rate Mechanism? Don't be fooled by him.

ALDE Leader, Graham Watson

UK Liberal Democrats

waxing lyrical on everything from Euroscepticism to EU decision-making.“As Eurosceptic winds gather strength, we need a president who will reach across the aisle and build a coalition for European democracy,” writes Watson, who has just launched a public campaign for parliament’s presidency and says he would “relish” a job at the organisation’s helm.

Well of course he would "relish" a job at the helm! The man is an EU fanatic, and would love nothing more than a stab at the top job of the EU Gravy Train, and taking Taxpayer's money for a totally unaccountable and undemocratic position. I'm sure the Liberal Democrats are proud to have him among their ranks!

The EU President is a total Non-Job, impossibly undemocratic, totally unaccountable and serves no real purpose other than to make sure Council and Commission Proposals are passed, often by going through the voting session in record time. I'm sure they have a book going on what will be the quickest voting session each time they have a Plenary in Brussels or Strasbourg!

More UKIP Members

KEN CLARKE THE EURO-REACTION.

UKIP is gaining members because of Ken Clarke's return to the Tory front bench. "Clarke's views on Europe are so out of line with the bulk of the Tory Party membership that they simply cannot stand being in the same party any more." said Nigel Farage, UKIP leader.Mike Nattrass, UKIP MEP for the West Midlands said "Only UKIP is firmly committed to leaving the EU so that we can be free and independent once again." "Tory MEPs consistently transfer power to the EU and that Tory policy is confirmed by Clark's return."The first defector in the West Midlands is Denis Allen. A former Mayor of Wellington, a town councillor in Wellington, a councillor on Telford and Wrekin Unitary Authority and former cabinet member there. Denis has also been the Chairman of the Wrekin Conservative Association. After service as an officer in the RAF Regiment Mr. Allen went on to become a Lt. Colonel in the Light Infantry TA."I was already uncomfortable with the way that David Cameron fudged the issue of the Conservative membership of the EPP group in the European Parliament. But the appointment of such a strong europhile like Ken Clarke to the front bench was the last straw. We can see that we can't negotiate from within: they ignored the Dutch and the French referendums and they're ignoring the Irish now. We have to leave so that we can rule ourselves." said Denis Allen. "That's why I joined UKIP, the only party advocating that Britain should be ruled by the British." Mike Nattrass added " Tory MEPs put their Group allowances into the "Yes" campaign and that says it
all."

Already it seems, UKIP has started gaining members from the Tories! About time too!

"Number Six" Patrick McGoohan has died aged 80

It was bad enough losing one UKIP's most revered characters, but today, the World has lost a truly great man, Patrick McGoohan.

McGoohan was made famous by his association to the popular TV Programme, "The Prisoner" and the slightly less well-known "Danger Man". The Prisoner ran for just one series and seventeen Episodes, but it is this series that has captured audiences around the World, myself included. The psychological thriller has kept audiences guessing for over 40 years, with no real understanding of exactly what it is all about. We know that he is Number six, the boss is Number one, but we only ever see Number two, they want information, information, information. and Number Six won't give it! What the information they demand is, audiences have been debating since the show began in 1967-68. I have my theories, but that is another story.

McGoohan was also a well respected Director and Producer as well as an actor, often being involved in the production of the TV Series, Columbo. Peter Falk was a good friend of McGoohan, and I'm sure he will miss his friend. It is well noting that McGoohan was in the frame to play James Bond well ahead of Connery for Dr No - he turned it down because McGoohan was a religious man and refused to do kissing scenes or have Bond being played as a womaniser. Clearly a strong character.

I am saddened by this, because McGoohan will not be around for any reprisal of "The Prisoner", either in TV format or the Movie that is always demanded of its fans.

I'm sure "The Prisoner" Convention at Portmeirion will be a celebration of his work, and I hope it will be a happy occasion, not a sad one.

One day, I will return to Portmeirion in Wales, and relive the Series - I might just do a Prisonerathon this Weekend!

"Be Seeing You"

"The Seducer of the Valleys" Dies At 62

A sad day indeed, Sir Dai Llewellyn, a Welsh Baronet and avid supporter of the UK Independence Party has passed away after a six month battle with cancer.

UKIP Leader, Nigel Farage, recants a tale from the days of the 2007 Welsh Assembly elections when, Sir Dai was awoken, looking dishevelled from the previous night's binging on alcohol, by Nigel at his home just moments away from an important Press Conference to launch his Candidacy. Within moments Dai was ready, and jumped into Nigel's car en-route to the Conference, during the journey he managed to consume the entire bottle of Chateau Garonne as they crossed the Severn Bridge. Nigel was, of course apprehensive about Sir Dai's ability to see out the Press Conference - but it was a success and it was Sir Dai's larger than life character that saved him that day.

Often called the "seducer of the Valleys" and a bon viveur, Dai was a popular man within UKIP, and we are honoured to have had such a man within our ranks. Particularly in today's politically correct era, Sir Dai was the most fervent anti-PC activist, and he so in everything he did.

I never had the fortune to meet Sir Dai, and I am sad about that, but tonight, I shall crack open a bottle of red to one of UKIP's best people - I'm sure Sir Dai would have liked to open a bottle too!

Rest In Peace.

We want UK Independence!

Hello all,

Its been some time since I last posted, so I shall indulge you in some interesting news.

Last week saw and interesting sign written in the snow "No To Lisbon", I naturally was overjoyed to see that we had friends in the Parliament! The reaction among the Pro-Treaty MEP's was even more enjoyable and the display was on the lips of everyone, including the baffled security - who, no doubt, received the wrath of Poettering himself.

This week is more serious, while many of our elected representatives in Strasbourg (UKIP excepted) celebrate the Economy, the reality is somewhat different. We already know that our economy in the UK is suffering thanks to a number of issues concerning the Banking Industry. The same is happening across Europe and the rest of the World. The ECB (European Central Bank) has refused to lower interest rates at the behest of Spain, Italy and Greece, whose economies are unable to survive the downturn, as they are not in control of the interest rates. Something the UK should be thankful for as we are not operating the Euro.

It is already happening, the Panic has begun, with customers in Germany already refusing Southern bank notes, as their value is getting weaker and weaker. Each country prints its own notes according to its economic weight in European Union under strict guidelines from the European Central Bank in Frankfurt. For example, German notes have an “X”‘ at the start of the serial numbers.

By refusing these bank notes, or exchanging them for German ones, the people of Germany have begun something that could be imitated across the Northern sphere of the Eurozone. Resulting in a split economy, as there will be rapid decline of value in Southern states and Northern states having to make-up the shortfall by rearranging interest rates. In my opinion, the end result will be a collapse of the Eurozone, and the ECB will have no choice but to begin a phased withdrawal of the Euro. That is if one of these Countries does not crack first and withdraw from the Euro altogether.

The answer is simple, the Euro has not been a success, but a slow and painful realisation that economic unity and a single currency simply does not work. The fallout has begun, perhaps the 10th Year of the Euro will be one more year too much for many Eurozone Countries. Lets just be thankful Britain is not a part of economic unity.

Its heavy stuff indeed, but the truth nonetheless - We want UK Independence!
