What EU Membership Means?
This is taken from the BBC Website - is there any more reason to tell Brussels where to go?
The peoples of Britain have never had a national referendum on our membership of the EU - and the more EU Directives that are passed, the less our politicians are representing us. Briefly this means that our elected MPs are not doing the job we elected them to do, and they gave themselves a pay rise last summer! To add insult to injury, they refuse to release details of their expenses - time for some real change I believe.
UKIP offers that real change, we will give the Peoples of Britain a referendum on our EU Membership - and we would back a NO Campaign!
We believe in transparency and making our Politicians accountable.

First Blood!
Martin Callanan the Conservative MEP for the North East Region had suggested a Conservative Government would be the solution to the Economic crisis we are suffering. Would somebody remind him about Black Wednesday and the European Exchange Rate Mechanism? Don't be fooled by him.

ALDE Leader, Graham Watson
waxing lyrical on everything from Euroscepticism to EU decision-making.“As Eurosceptic winds gather strength, we need a president who will reach across the aisle and build a coalition for European democracy,” writes Watson, who has just launched a public campaign for parliament’s presidency and says he would “relish” a job at the organisation’s helm.
Well of course he would "relish" a job at the helm! The man is an EU fanatic, and would love nothing more than a stab at the top job of the EU Gravy Train, and taking Taxpayer's money for a totally unaccountable and undemocratic position. I'm sure the Liberal Democrats are proud to have him among their ranks!
The EU President is a total Non-Job, impossibly undemocratic, totally unaccountable and serves no real purpose other than to make sure Council and Commission Proposals are passed, often by going through the voting session in record time. I'm sure they have a book going on what will be the quickest voting session each time they have a Plenary in Brussels or Strasbourg!
Had enough of the EU? Want accountable politicians? Want fairness?

More UKIP Members
UKIP is gaining members because of Ken Clarke's return to the Tory front bench. "Clarke's views on Europe are so out of line with the bulk of the Tory Party membership that they simply cannot stand being in the same party any more." said Nigel Farage, UKIP leader.Mike Nattrass, UKIP MEP for the West Midlands said "Only UKIP is firmly committed to leaving the EU so that we can be free and independent once again." "Tory MEPs consistently transfer power to the EU and that Tory policy is confirmed by Clark's return."The first defector in the West Midlands is Denis Allen. A former Mayor of Wellington, a town councillor in Wellington, a councillor on Telford and Wrekin Unitary Authority and former cabinet member there. Denis has also been the Chairman of the Wrekin Conservative Association. After service as an officer in the RAF Regiment Mr. Allen went on to become a Lt. Colonel in the Light Infantry TA."I was already uncomfortable with the way that David Cameron fudged the issue of the Conservative membership of the EPP group in the European Parliament. But the appointment of such a strong europhile like Ken Clarke to the front bench was the last straw. We can see that we can't negotiate from within: they ignored the Dutch and the French referendums and they're ignoring the Irish now. We have to leave so that we can rule ourselves." said Denis Allen. "That's why I joined UKIP, the only party advocating that Britain should be ruled by the British." Mike Nattrass added " Tory MEPs put their Group allowances into the "Yes" campaign and that says it
all."
Already it seems, UKIP has started gaining members from the Tories! About time too!

"Number Six" Patrick McGoohan has died aged 80
It was bad enough losing one UKIP's most revered characters, but today, the World has lost a truly great man, Patrick McGoohan.
McGoohan was made famous by his association to the popular TV Programme, "The Prisoner" and the slightly less well-known "Danger Man". The Prisoner ran for just one series and seventeen Episodes, but it is this series that has captured audiences around the World, myself included. The psychological thriller has kept audiences guessing for over 40 years, with no real understanding of exactly what it is all about. We know that he is Number six, the boss is Number one, but we only ever see Number two, they want information, information, information. and Number Six won't give it! What the information they demand is, audiences have been debating since the show began in 1967-68. I have my theories, but that is another story.
McGoohan was also a well respected Director and Producer as well as an actor, often being involved in the production of the TV Series, Columbo. Peter Falk was a good friend of McGoohan, and I'm sure he will miss his friend. It is well noting that McGoohan was in the frame to play James Bond well ahead of Connery for Dr No - he turned it down because McGoohan was a religious man and refused to do kissing scenes or have Bond being played as a womaniser. Clearly a strong character.
I am saddened by this, because McGoohan will not be around for any reprisal of "The Prisoner", either in TV format or the Movie that is always demanded of its fans.
I'm sure "The Prisoner" Convention at Portmeirion will be a celebration of his work, and I hope it will be a happy occasion, not a sad one.
One day, I will return to Portmeirion in Wales, and relive the Series - I might just do a Prisonerathon this Weekend!

"Be Seeing You"
"The Seducer of the Valleys" Dies At 62
A sad day indeed, Sir Dai Llewellyn, a Welsh Baronet and avid supporter of the UK Independence Party has passed away after a six month battle with cancer.
UKIP Leader, Nigel Farage, recants a tale from the days of the 2007 Welsh Assembly elections when, Sir Dai was awoken, looking dishevelled from the previous night's binging on alcohol, by Nigel at his home just moments away from an important Press Conference to launch his Candidacy. Within moments Dai was ready, and jumped into Nigel's car en-route to the Conference, during the journey he managed to consume the entire bottle of Chateau Garonne as they crossed the Severn Bridge. Nigel was, of course apprehensive about Sir Dai's ability to see out the Press Conference - but it was a success and it was Sir Dai's larger than life character that saved him that day.
Often called the "seducer of the Valleys" and a bon viveur, Dai was a popular man within UKIP, and we are honoured to have had such a man within our ranks. Particularly in today's politically correct era, Sir Dai was the most fervent anti-PC activist, and he so in everything he did.
I never had the fortune to meet Sir Dai, and I am sad about that, but tonight, I shall crack open a bottle of red to one of UKIP's best people - I'm sure Sir Dai would have liked to open a bottle too!

We want UK Independence!
Hello all,
Its been some time since I last posted, so I shall indulge you in some interesting news.
Last week saw and interesting sign written in the snow "No To Lisbon", I naturally was overjoyed to see that we had friends in the Parliament! The reaction among the Pro-Treaty MEP's was even more enjoyable and the display was on the lips of everyone, including the baffled security - who, no doubt, received the wrath of Poettering himself.
This week is more serious, while many of our elected representatives in Strasbourg (UKIP excepted) celebrate the Economy, the reality is somewhat different. We already know that our economy in the UK is suffering thanks to a number of issues concerning the Banking Industry. The same is happening across Europe and the rest of the World. The ECB (European Central Bank) has refused to lower interest rates at the behest of Spain, Italy and Greece, whose economies are unable to survive the downturn, as they are not in control of the interest rates. Something the UK should be thankful for as we are not operating the Euro.
It is already happening, the Panic has begun, with customers in Germany already refusing Southern bank notes, as their value is getting weaker and weaker. Each country prints its own notes according to its economic weight in European Union under strict guidelines from the European Central Bank in Frankfurt. For example, German notes have an “X”‘ at the start of the serial numbers.
By refusing these bank notes, or exchanging them for German ones, the people of Germany have begun something that could be imitated across the Northern sphere of the Eurozone. Resulting in a split economy, as there will be rapid decline of value in Southern states and Northern states having to make-up the shortfall by rearranging interest rates. In my opinion, the end result will be a collapse of the Eurozone, and the ECB will have no choice but to begin a phased withdrawal of the Euro. That is if one of these Countries does not crack first and withdraw from the Euro altogether.
The answer is simple, the Euro has not been a success, but a slow and painful realisation that economic unity and a single currency simply does not work. The fallout has begun, perhaps the 10th Year of the Euro will be one more year too much for many Eurozone Countries. Lets just be thankful Britain is not a part of economic unity.
Its heavy stuff indeed, but the truth nonetheless - We want UK Independence!
